How to pronounce my name: Sh-kwhen Ban :) I also go by Oliver!

I am a second-year master’s student (MS in Robotics) at the Robotics Institute, Carnegie Mellon University, advised by Prof. Zackory Erickson.

I obtained my bachelor’s degree from Peking University, where I was advised by Prof. Yizhou Wang at the Center on Frontiers of Computing Studies. I was fortunate to work closely with Prof. Wentao Zhu at the Eastern Institute of Technology, Ningbo (EIT), and Dr. Xiaoxuan Ma.

I am interested in developing intelligent, human-aligned robot agents that understand people and their physical environments, and act safely, robustly, and adaptively in the real world.
